Here is a creamy refreshing treat to help beat the summer heat!
It’s summer! That means hot sun, beach vacations, cookouts and pool time. If you’re looking for a creative new way to get your elderberry syrup in, I have the perfect recipe!
It’s our Elder-Berry Banana Nice Cream! Having a family with dairy sensitivities can be a real downer, so when I learned there was a way to achieve an ice-creamy texture with bananas, I knew I had to try it for myself.
It’s easy to grab a tub or 2 of ice cream from the grocery store, but they’re full of added sugar, artificial flavors, artificial colors, and high fructose corn syrup. But not our Elder-Berry Banana Nice Cream. Our nice cream is way better, super easy to make and more nourishing than what you’ll find in the freezer section.
This recipe is very flexible and forgiving with measurements.
What you’ll need:
-2 cut up and frozen bananas
-1 cup of frozen berries
-2-3 tbsps of Faith’s Signature Elderberry Syrup
Yields 3-4 servings
Pulse the frozen bananas, frozen berries and our Signature Elderberry Syrup in a food processor or blender until it reaches a crumbly texture. You may need to stop and scrape the machine down once or twice to make sure everything keeps moving and blending. Continue to pulse and then blend until you reach a smooth and creamy texture!
Serve right away for a soft serve ice cream consistency. For a scoop-able consistency, transfer the nice cream to a freezer-safe dish and freeze for 2 hours. Get your ice cream bowls and get ready for the best creamy, nutritious and absolutely delicious dairy free summer treat!
Any extra nice cream can be stored in the freezer and enjoyed whenever you’re in the mood for a sweet, refreshing and nourishing treat that’s loaded with immune-boosting ingredients and nutrients.
